Dedicated, Moving and Creative.
Having worked in the health and fitness industry for more than 10 years, Harley is passionate about changing people’s lives by creating new habits, and bettering their lives with healthy choices related to fitness.
“I love to push people past their current barriers to create a new, higher standard. Seeing the improvements of someone that commits to a Healthy Fox lifestyle is extremely gratifying.” And Harley is a man who practices what he preaches.
“I have done many physical challenges over the years. I have completed all levels of Spartan Racing; the 7km, 15km, 21km and the Ultra Beast 42km obstacle courses. I have done crazy amounts of burpees, doing 300 in King George square as part of the Spartan 300 Challenge. I took a team and did a Burpee Mile, 1.6km of back to back Burpee Broad jumps and perhaps one of the hardest things I have ever done! I’m not scared of a challenge and love to live the life I teach.”
‘You only get one shot at life, but live it well and once is enough!’
Starting out as a Muay Thai fighter, then seeking out whatever new, exciting challenge he could find, Harley’s passion for health and fitness really sparked during his time serving in the Royal Australian Navy.
After leaving, he followed his passion and became an Exercise Professional so he could help people on the same journey he went on.
With his Muay Thai background, Harley started his career at Corporate Box Lutwyche under the tutorage of Aaron Smith, Shannon King and Bruce McFie. It was there that he became a Personal Trainer. Since then, he has helped create a boxing gym at the Gap Health and Racquet Club, assisted in setting up group fitness classes at a friend’s prominent 24 hour gym, worked as a freelance boxing coach and spent two years at Fitclub Boxing Gym in Brisbane CBD where he started out as a PT before quickly progressing to Personal Training Manager and then Club Manager. It was also at Fitclub that Harley met another Healthy Fox and his now wife, Valerie.
These days you will find Harley following his dreams and working with Valerie to effect positive change in people’s lives through training plans, massage, overall wellness and nutritional advice.
“I am currently studying Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of Queensland while training clients remotely through Online Training and I also run Bootcamps at Suncorp Stadium. I am committed to each of my clients. I get a great deal of satisfaction from seeing the positive changes that occur from them achieving their goals and I can’t wait to help you achieve yours too!”
